Quick Dry – A breathable water proof sheet that act as a bed protector and giving babies diaper free nights is an innovative product from Bannari Amman Spinning Mills (NSE: BASML) replacing rubber sheets. I’ve seen this product occupying prominet shelf space in most baby shops in Chennai and there is no competition to Bannari Mills from any other brands in this segment as of now.

However there are no clear cut figures in the annual report to see how much Bannari Amman Spinning Mills will benefit from its unique product Quick Dry. Will it improve their profit margins? Will they use this technology advantage to create more niche consumer products? Lets wait and see how this stock moves from the current levels of Rs 70 in the coming years?

At the current market price of Rs 120, its shares are available at an attractive dividend yield of 5.8%. Dividend declared per share for the financial year 2010-2011 is Rs 7. If you consider the past 5 year record, the company has been consistently paying dividends to shareholders, with the exception of 2008-09.
